 Respect:
This means respecting other’s privacy, property, and most of all opinions. When someone is speaking, please be respectful and listen.

Food and drinks:
There will be no food or drinks allowed in the classroom.

Assignments:
Students are expected to turn in assignments on the due date; LATE WORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!!.  Barring any excused absences, work is expected to be turned in on time.  If, for any reason, a student feels he/she cannot make a deadline, an extension may be granted if the student notifies the teacher of the extenuating circumstances AT LEAST one school day prior to the due date.  Bottom line:  If you think you cannot get something done, come see me!

Tardiness and Absences:
Class starts when the bell rings. Please be seated and ready at this time. Excessive tardiness and absences will be dealt with on an individual basis. If you are absent for a class, you need to see me to find out what you missed.

Bonus Points:
Throughout each quarter there will be opportunities to gain (or lose) bonus points.  When you have received 25 bonus points you will get a certificate which can be turned in to extend the due date on a project or replace and assignment that is 15 points or less.

Participation:
You will need to participate in class. This means sharing your ideas, opinions, and answers and actively listening to others ideas, opinions, and answers. The more input you put into class, the more enjoyable it will be.

Be Prepared for Class:
You will always need a writing utensil, paper, textbook, a book to read, and your assignment notebook/planner.

Tests and Quizzes:
Please be respectful of others around you by not talking during tests and quizzes. If you need something after a test/quiz has started, you need to ask me and not your neighbor.

Extra Credit:
More information will be coming out later this month about extra credit opportunities.  We are currently working on a uniform extra credit policy for the English Dept.
