Greetings!

Thank you for visiting my web site.  Here is just a little bit about myself.

I was born in Kittery, Maine, but I moved to Plain, Wisconsin when I was nine to the family farm.  I am a graduate of Sauk Prairie High School: 1986.  I enjoy swimming, horse back riding, reading, and watching movies.  I have a son who teaches me a lot about patience and understanding.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin -  River Falls with a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education.  After graduating from the university, I taught English as a Second Language and English as a Foreign Language in Japan, Mexico, and Thailand.  These experiences really helped me to understand how students have many different learning styles.

After six years out of the country, I returned and received my teaching certification.  I worked for a short while at Dakota County Alternative Learning School.  This school was created to give students who were not succeeding in regular education classes an alternative to receiving their diploma.

Currently, I am teaching English 10, American Literature, and On the Job English at Sauk Prairie High School.  I feel privileged to work in my old school working with students.  I recently received my Master's degree in Education with an emphasis on integrating technology into the classroom.  It was an experience to see things from a student perspective once again.

I am including  an essay I wrote about Sauk Prairie.  I hope you enjoy it.

Kim Sprecher
